Job Overview
We are seeking a trustworthy hands-on and detail-oriented Accountant / Financial Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of a growing enterprise in real estate development and commercial agriculture. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of operational accounting
experience and strategic financial oversight. Integrity diligence and the ability to work independently are essential to succeed in this role.

| Key Responsibilities
|
1. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Develop coordinate and monitor annual budgets across business units.
Prepare forecasts and track variances against actual performance.
- Support strategic financial planning and investment decision-making.
- 2. Bookkeeping & Accounting Oversight
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records and journals.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- 3. Payment Verification & Controls
- Review and approve payment requisitions and documentation.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to manage risk and cash flow.
Ensure timely payments to suppliers service providers and contractors.
4. Financial Reporting
- Prepare periodic (monthly/quarterly/annual) financial statements.
- Compile management information reports (MIS) and financial summaries.
- Ensure timely statutory reporting and support external audit processes.
5. Payroll Cash Flow & Administration
- Manage payroll processing including statutory deductions and tax remittances.
- Maintain staff benefits records and process accurate payslips.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow reports to guide operational liquidity.
6. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (URA NSSF Local Government etc.)
- Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and maintain compliance.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and tax consultants when required.
7. System & Data Management
- Maintain the Tally accounting system and ensure accurate data entry.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial modeling analysis and reporting.
- Ensure organized digital and physical records for audit and management use.
8. Liaison & Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison for banks external auditors suppliers and stakeholders.
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support procurement tracking project cost allocation and operational decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Professional certification (CPA ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 10 years of relevant work experience in accounting/finance.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Prior experience in agriculture or real estate is strongly preferred.

Bachelor s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is an added advantage. Minimum 4 years experience in trading, procurement, or a related role (preferably in the coffee industry). Deep knowledge of coffee markets and trading best practices. Proven analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools. Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities. Work Environment & Travel The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to production sites and industry events both locally and internationally.
