We are recruiting Emergency Medicine Locum Physicians for immediate and future vacancies in the Northwest Territories (NWT).
The successful incumbent will be working in the Stanton Territorial Hospital Emergency Department. The hospital which opened its doors in May 2019 is the referral centre for the Northwest Territories has a population catchment of nearly 50000 people and sees 19000 emergency department visits a year.

Requirements
- CCFP-EM or FRCP preferred
- CCFP with recent ER experience considered
- ACLS and ATLS (or equivalent required)
- Must be eligible for licensure in the Northwest Territories
Emergency Physicians can work exclusively in the ER or combine their ER work with another service such as hospitalist clinic or community practice.

Locum Compensation
Yellowknife
Rate: $2500-$3200 per shift
Standard Locum Week: 6 shifts (typically 2 day shifts 2 evening shifts 2 night shifts)
Shift Durations:
Day Shift: 07:00 15:00 (8 hours)
Evening Shift: 14:00 22:00 (8 hours)
Night Shift: 22:00 07:00 (9 hours)

For those interested in a longer-term opportunity highly competitive salaried contracts ranging from one to three years are available. Physicians on these contracts benefit from a comprehensive compensation package that includes a Northern Living Allowance a Recruitment Bonus an Annual Retention Bonus and Retirement Income Benefits equivalent to 15% of their annual salary. Salaried positions also eliminate the burden of overhead billing or practice management. Licensing & Credentialing
Not licensed yet: NWT licensing and credentialing procedures takes 4-8 weeks to complete and is quite similar to other jurisdictions. Initial licensing fee is $323 and $215 for each subsequent year of renewal. Support provided.
