Job Summary
A prominent independent senior school that is part of a high-achieving family of schools in Hertfordshire seeks an expert English Teacher starting January 2026. This role requires fostering critical literary analysis and sophisticated communication skills across the senior curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive English Language and Literature lessons across all Key Stages (3-5) including high-level A-Level preparation.
- Cultivate pupils critical thinking and communication skills through rigorous textual analysis and debate.
- Support the departments program of academic enrichment and co-curricular literary activities.
- Provide targeted academic guidance to individual pupils to maintain high university entrance rates particularly for competitive Humanities programs.
- Actively support the schools comprehensive pastoral system as a dedicated Form Tutor.
Requirements
- A strong degree in English and proven success teaching up to A-Level in a high-achieving environment (QTS/PGCE preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively and inspire sustained academic focus.
- Seeking an English Teacher dedicated to upholding the schools high academic standards and securing strong measurable outcomes.
