The success of MCS starts with the people we employ. This is a hybrid direct hire Staff Accountant role reporting to the CFO. This position has tight deadlines and covers a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger management audit preparation collections billing accounts payable and payroll duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare internal and external financial statements.
- Record fixed asset activity and calculate depreciation.
- Complete bank reconciliations and audit cash transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including but not limited to prepaids accruals security deposits and payroll.
- Support and back-up the Payroll Manager.
- Manage credit card program and expense reimbursements.
- Support accounts payable with the entering reviewing and reporting of transactions.
- File monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
- Assist with credit collections and cash application duties.
- Work with the finance team on budget and forecasting activities.
- Provide training to new and existing staff.
- Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting or auditing
- Proficient in MS Suite and Google Apps preferred
- Working knowledge of Quickbooks SAP Microsoft GP or a similar accounting software preferred
- Working knowledge of Teams Zoom GoTo or a similar virtual meeting platform preferred
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Hubspot or a similar CRM platform preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational problem-solving time management and analytical skills
- Ability to work with a diverse team
