Yellowstone Club is currently seeking candidates for Snowsports Assistant Manager. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Snowsports Supervisor staff & Instructors. Seasonal duties would include the oversight of interviewing and hiring new staff working with the training staff to determine training necessary for instructors and to lead Supervisor staff on managing instructors schedules and the assignment of lessons. The Assistant Manager will coordinate the schedules of the Snowsports Supervisors to ensure adequate coverage at all times. The Assistant Manager needs to be knowledgeable in the methods of ski instruction a strong leader and very organized. They also need to have strong communication with the Snowsports Manager Winter Leadership Team Snowsports Instructors OP Reservations and members alike.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required.   • Aid the Snowsports Manger in program design facility management assessment risk management and staffing including hiring training and supervising.
  • Train and Lead Snowsports Supervisors along with maintaining the Supervisor schedule communicating it to the Snowsports Manager;
  • Lead morning discussions with Snowsports Supervisors with a professional attitude and appearance;
  • Support Supervisor Staff at Line-Up; Meet and greet parents and students on-snow with a professional attitude and appearance;
  • Have oversight to the assignment of lessons to appropriate instructors help instructors and Supervisor staff determine lesson splits;
  • If necessary help instructors determine meeting times options for lunch and end of the lesson meeting locations with parents;
  • Work with Supervisors and instructors on how to plan organize and provide safe fun and professional instruction within the guidelines of the YC Snowsports School and the standards of PSIA;
  • Implement and train Supervisors & instructors on summarization of lessons
  • Communicate all concerns questions and scheduling issues with the Snowsports Manager
  • Works well in an environment with children and adults either indoors or outside
  • Is comfortable having vital conversations with staff and members alike
  • Participate in all required training and education clinics.
  • Experience/Education Required
  • Demonstrated experience leading peers
  • Demonstrated experience working with children
  • Ability to motivate instructors to teach/lead various childrens activities and games on snow
  • Clear knowledge of skiers skill level and able to perform lesson splits
  • The ability to teach and recite the Skiers Responsibility Code
  • Familiar with Alpine Technical Issues
  • Familiar with the Childrens Teaching Manual
  • Five years of work-related skill knowledge and experience
  • College or University degree or equivalent education
  • CPR/First-Aid Training (will provide if needed)
  • Similar Combination of education and experience
  • PSIA-AASI Level 3 Certification
  • Childrens Specialist Level 2

Experience/Education Preferred

  • PSIA Level 3 Alpine Certification

Certificates & Licenses

  • PSIA Level 3
  • Childrens Specialist Level 2
