Job Description

POSITION:Operations Shift Leader

PAY RATE: Salary

DEPARTMENT: Operations Management

SHIFT: B Shift

LOCATION: Lewistown Building 300

Purpose and role of job:

Responsible for supervising all production and shift support team members in an efficient manner to achieve the desired quality and quantity of work regularly interacting with all departments such as Quality Maintenance Safety Human Resources and Engineering.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Follows necessary GMP FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Supervises all hourly team members and operation of the shift.
  • Completes 45-day 90 day annual and promotional reviews.
  • Completes and issues disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Works closely with HR department on employee relations and provides documentation on employee performance.
  • Reports any process and equipment problems to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensures that all established rules regulations and procedures are followed and will hold team members accountable.
  • Verifies all production specifications and packaging requirements.
  • Distributes plant status reports to the proceeding Shift Supervisor and report any incidents to the Production Manager.
  • Oversees all processes equipment team members safety housekeeping and asset management to make sure these are following company guidelines.
  • Completes accurate production reporting for production lines.
  • Assists preventative maintenance programs on production lines.
  • Manage projects and plant initiatives through completion.
  • Support business needs by working shift and alternate schedules as needed.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of college courses preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in supervision or other related field preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Standard knowledge of forklift operation.
  • Standard knowledge of instruments control units packaging machines and scales.
  • Advanced ability to communicate orally and written.
