Job Description

Job Summary

Perform clerical duties in a storeroom setting performing inventory control of storeroom materials at two Basic American Foods storeroom locations a typical schedule would be 4 days per week at the Rexburg Idaho facility and 1 day per week at the Shelley Idaho facility but could fluctuate depending on each storeroom location needs. Physically and electronically receive and handle storeroom supplies or materials in an organized scheduled manner verify received storeroom materials against PO and supplier receiving documents. Perform inventory cycle counting physically checking storeroom materials inventory accuracy for count correct item stocked slippage or damages. Resolve customer issues relating to the condition availability and location identification of inventory stocked items. Handle and record movements of incoming & outgoing storeroom materials. Ensure storeroom premises are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion and ensure adherence to Basic American Foods established food safety and employee safety policies or standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Perform clerical duties safely by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal company policies. Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. Responsible for upholding the principles of SQF 2000 ensure product quality by adherence to GMPS Sanitation Guidelines and Food Contact Guidelines and immediately reporting any food safety food quality or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
  2. Performs the category management and strategy development for delivery of part and supplies including participating in the receiving process inventory management and delivery of indirect materials used by maintenance operations engineering and divisional staff. Ensuring efficient inventory management supporting maintenance and/or operations activities to construct maintain and repair facility assets within the organization. Partner with maintenance and other facility cross-functional personnel teams to optimize quality inventory availability delivery kitting or staging and supporting integrated inventory optimization/reduction management programs providing value creation and cashflow improvements.
  3. Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors maintenance production and company staff by providing accurate factual and timely communications. Perform problem solving and issue resolutions using lean principles to drive continuous improvement. Keep accurate records in the ERP management system including part data integrity inventory receipts inventory cycle count data and parts transaction history.
  4. Perform company strategies for indirect material services management. Support processes to reduce obsolete and unused parts. Completes cycle counts stock out resolution and other inventory control activities necessary to report improve or sustain inventory accuracy inventory turns fill rate and overall optimized inventory valuation.
  5. Manage storeroom sanitation program face and organize parts shelving. Manage pick-up or delivery of parts and supplies including inter-site storeroom inventory transfers using company vehicles as needed.
  6. Perform or provide support to material receipts storage and issuing process. Manage the daily labeling and restocking of bins for daily receipt of indirect MRO parts and supplies. Obtain facility certifications including forklift and pallet jack necessary to operate this equipment in performance of the clerks job duties. Provide support to facilities FedEx shipping documents and materials shipping program.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree preferred but not required; and three years related experience and/or training.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Strategic judgement and analytical rigor with the ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Experience developing and leading category strategies development of external partner capabilities and leading cost savings initiatives.
  • Partnering and working with cross functional teams.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously and ability to mitigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability as a subject matter expert to develop and implement strategies plans and sourcing activities at the lowest total cost of ownership.

  • Ability as a subject matter expert in the use of strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Strong ability to use program and project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to manage supplier performance and is highly capable of driving continuous improvement with existing suppliers.
  • Should have knowledge of Contract Management systems; Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software Word Processing software and MS Office.
