Position Summary - Completion of CANS assessments for child consumers involved wiith Hamilton County child welfare system.
- Interact sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide decision support to help identify approaches that address youth and family needs while building on their strengths and helping to achieve a collaborative consensus-based assessment including level of care and service planning.
What We Value in our next CANS Assessment Specialist - Bachelors or masters degree in counseling social work or other mental health related field.
- Prior child welfare experience or demonstrated knowledge of the child welfare system.
- Experience in working with people with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
- Knowledge of the DSM-5.
- Ability to formulate treatment summaries and recommendations.
- Possess organizational skills that allow for an effective response to deadlines and a willingness to complete assessments in the community setting.
- Possess current CANS certification or ability to attain CANS certification.
