As we continue to grow we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.
Salary: $100K-$130k/yr 20% annual bonus
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (Normal Business Hours)
Candidates must be located in the Chicago IL area and willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
The Accounting Manager will support our high-growth global business. Reporting directly to the Global Controller this role is responsible for managing U.S. accounting operations ensuring billing accuracy maintaining strong financial controls and leading the month-end close and annual audit processes.
This role requires a hands-on strategic leader with deep technical knowledge in U.S. GAAP strong process ownership and a passion for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings excellent organizational skills financial acumen and cross-functional collaboration experience in a fast-paced multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a high-performing U.S. accounting team promoting accountability growth and cross-functional collaboration.
- Partner closely with global counterparts including the EMEA Controller FP&A legal tax and operations to align practices and reporting.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Own and manage the complete month-end close process ensuring timeliness accuracy and adherence to U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare review and ensure completeness of journal entries account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Maintain a robust balance sheet control environment ensuring accounts are properly reconciled and reviewed monthly.
- Lead the preparation of internal financial reports for U.S. entities and provide variance analysis to management.
Audit & Compliance
- Lead the annual U.S. audit coordinating with external auditors preparing audit schedules and resolving audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Global Controller in maintaining and enhancing internal control frameworks including SOX compliance as needed.
Billing Oversight & Revenue Integrity
- Oversee the billing function ensuring accuracy completeness and timeliness of invoicing.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate customer billing records.
- Monitor revenue recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Cash Management & Forecasting
- Prepare and manage the 13-week cash flow forecast for U.S. operations identifying key drivers and working capital requirements.
- Monitor daily cash activity and support treasury operations including funding transfers and bank account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely processing of payments and adherence to internal payment controls.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support ERP and finance system enhancements (e.g. SAGE Intacct D365) including automation and integration initiatives.
- Document and maintain accounting policies procedures and controls in line with best practices and scalability.
Strategic Projects & Cross-Functional Support
- Support M&A integration activities including financial due diligence and post-acquisition accounting setup.
- Collaborate with global tax teams on intercompany transactions transfer pricing and tax compliance.
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 8 yearsof progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. GAAP financial close billing cash forecasting and audit management.
- Experience working in a high-growth global or PE-backed organization preferably in services facilities management or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g. SAGE Intacct) and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional partnership.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field.
- Active CPA license or equivalent U.S. accounting qualification strongly preferred.
