JOB TITLE: Global Cultures & Compassion Logistics Coordinator
Intercultural Studies Program Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Theology
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly 12-month
JOB SUMMARY: As Logistics Coordinator (LC) this person will oversee all accounts associated with Global Cultures & Compassion. The LC will also provide administrative support for the Intercultural Studies program as needed by the Program Coordinator of Intercultural Studies. As Global Cultures & Compassion Program Assistant this person will oversee logistics and financial accounting for all trips sponsored by Evangel University in conjunction with Global Cultures & Compassion. He/She will work alongside the Director of Global Cultures & Compassion Program and faculty for Global Cultures & Compassion to ensure effective administration of all program responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Assistant Intercultural Studies:
- Provide general secretarial support for Intercultural Studies Program Coordinator as needed. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings maintaining calendar updates and attending program events for Intercultural Studies and/or the Theology & Global Church Ministries department.
- Oversee and budget for World Changers Missions Club financial account and assist as needed for special events.
Global Cultures & Compassion Logistics Coordinator:
- Coordinate logistics of all Global Cultures & Compassion sponsored trips which include stateside international departmental and general cross-cultural travel opportunities.
- Provide financial accounting for all trip participants and sponsors & stay updated on technology and trip requirements.
- Manage all logistical details & student accounts (academic credit or not/ tax deductible or not) for Global Cultures & Compassion trips (including Serve Asia). Responsibilities include recruiting faculty sponsors (in conjuction with the Director of Global Cultures & Compassion) tracking trips with Managed Missions and annually updating necessary travel forms & documents partnering with outside personnel and communicating with all involved parties (faculty staff and students).
- Assist Global Cultures & Compassion team in the effective implementation of the ICST 454 course. Responsibilities include working in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant to enter necessary course fees.
- Colaborate with the Marketing department & any other companies on promotional items
- Communicate GCC announcements & newsletters through social media platforms & newsletters to our campus & district ministry networks for the solicitation of funds
- Assist with any GCC related presentation in chapels classrooms and training of trip sponsors and students with GCC Director
- Maintain regular communication with Development Team with GCC updates for our alumni & donors
- Explore new local and cross-cultural opportunities for GCC trips including service and virtual missions trips under the direction of the Global Cultures & Compassion Director as schedule allows
- Develop relationship with first time donors and others and thank you videos and with the purpose of fundraising for GCC as schedule allows
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some college experience; preference for someone with a bachelors degree.
- Requires minimum typing skills of 50 wpm.
- Familiarity with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Good record of work attendance
- Must be able to relate effectively with professional and student personnel in an academic setting
- Good communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting
- Willingness to update skills as the job requires
EXPERIENCE: Two years of applicable work experience or a related Bachelors Degree.
MACHINES TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Computer office equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Will be on-call when students are on overseas missions trips during Winter Break Spring Break and Summer. Expect increased work demands the month before Fall Break Spring Break and Summer Missions Trips.

REPORTS TO: Director of Global Cultures & Compassion & Intercultural Studies Program Coordinator
SUPERVISES: Global Cultures & Compassion Office Assistant (student workstudy)
**Global Cultures & Compassion is the cross-cultural education course requirement in Evangel Universitys general education program. All students must have a cross-cultural experience completed through one of four ways: previous local stateside or international. Students will also complete an eight week lecture on the principles of intercultural studies and compassion.
