Job Description

Position: E-commerce Sales Agent (South Africa)
Type of contract: Independent Contractor
Working Hours : 10am 7pm CST 2 days off (NO WEEKENDS OFF)
Salary Range : $1.600 - $1.800 USD/month

Your charge is to uncover and advance revenue-ready opportunities with architects interior designers and residential developers then hand those projects to our design and inside-sales teams to close

About the role
The eCommerce Sales Agent engages customers via phone email and live-chat to understand their furniture needs deliver consultative selling solutions and drive online revenue. In addition to closing sales providing frontline support and doing ERP order entry this role proactively identifies and qualifies customers ready for a deeper design consultation generating high-value leads for our Design Consultants to drive larger project sales.


Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Manage incoming leads and proactively outreach to both new and existing customers.
  • Use consultative selling techniques to meet and exceed monthly online sales goals.
  • Upsell and cross-sell related products services and preferred-vendor offerings.
  • Identify prospects with larger-project needs (e.g. whole-room design high-ticket orders) and hand them off to Design Consultants following our qualification checklist and lead-routing process.
  • Schedule in-home or in-store design consultations as needed.
  • Maintain detailed customer notes and activity records in the CRM.

Frontline Support

  • Answer general product questions (dimensions colors availability swatch requests).
  • Assist customers with website navigation placing orders and accessing account features.
  • Provide order status updates shipment tracking and resolution of delivery inquiries.
  • Process order modifications: cancellations address changes payment issues (declines) and stock-out substitutions.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues: password resets login errors and system access.
  • Coordinate mailing of swatch/sample materials.

Administrative & ERP Processing

  • Enter new online orders and order modifications into the ERP system promptly and accurately.
  • Verify pricing discounts and promotions in the system ensuring margin integrity.
  • Reconcile order data between CRM Google Analytics and ERP.
  • Generate and distribute daily/weekly order and performance reports as requested by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree a plus).
  • 1 year in e-commerce sales customer service or live-chat support.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong consultative-selling mindset with a proven track record of meeting sales KPIs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel CRM systems and ability to learn new ERP software quickly.
  • Outstanding organizational skills attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Comfortable working early morning evening and weekend shifts to cover peak traffic.
