The Division of General Internal Medicine Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks to employ a Geriatrician at an open rank. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to provide high-quality patient care engage in academic and scholarly activities and contribute to the advancement of geriatric services and treatments at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at New Brunswick. The faculty member will work directly with patients to best understand their needs in order to test diagnose and treat patients as required as well as work with patients primary physicians and other relevant physicians to arrive at a workable medical strategy for their concerns. Some duties may include: participate in geriatrics specialty outpatient programs conduct inpatient geriatrics consultation services educate and mentor medical students residents and fellows and other duties as assigned. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at New Brunswick is part of the RWJBarnabas Health System. The affiliation of Rutgers Health and RWJ /Barnabas Health the largest health system in NJ presents exciting opportunities for growth and expansion of the geriatrics program. The integrated health system (RWJBarnabas) is a $5 billion enterprise and cares for about 40% of all NJ residents.

The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is comprised of approximately 150 paid and more than 500 volunteer faculty members organized into 11 divisions covering the major medical subspecialties: Allergy Immunology and Infectious Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Education; Endocrinology Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical Oncology; Nephrology; Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology.
