Purpose Statement:
Responsible for overseeing the entire plants Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. This role requires daily supervision and guidance of Quality Assurance.
Position Summary:
Oversee Quality Assurance programs for the plant managing the shift effectively.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections and audits across all quality performance phases (raw materials production packaging distribution Food Safety Plan/ HACCP GMPs etc.).
Enforce QA policies procedures and directives to meet company customer and government expectations providing necessary feedback and ensuring corrective actions.
Lead the plants SQF certification program and perform customer and annual SQF audits.
Develop and uphold the Food Safety and HACCP plan train plant personnel on quality programs.
Communicate with State Dept of Agriculture/ FDA representative regarding inspections and maintain various quality programs (Pest Control Self-Inspection Supplier Management Safety Microbiological Testing and Food Defense).
Collaborate with Plant Manager to ensure proper facility maintenance and housekeeping.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in an applicable technical field Food Science Biology Chemistry Engineering etc.
5 of quality control experience in food manufacturing.
Proficiency in HACCP SSOP and SOP
Knowledge of FDA standards
SQF Practitioner and PCQI Certification highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of equipment analytical tools and food-processing equipment

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle reach with hands and arms see talk and hear. The employee is required to stand walk stoop or kneel.
