The Division of Education in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is looking to appoint an exemplary educator with clinical expertise to join our internal medicine residency leadership team as an Associate Program Director ( APD ). The APD role is required to have significant engagement with resident teaching and supervision in the clinical setting. The role requires eligible candidates to: Serve as the attending of record for internal medicine hospitalized patients on resident teaching teams. Serve as the overall Elective Director for the residency in collaboration with site directors. Deliver longitudinal board review on a selected topic. Engage in key residency activities including but not limited to service on the clinical competency and GME committees curriculum development recruitment conferences retreats mentoring and coaching. The internal medicine residency program has 71 categorical residents and three instructor level chief residents in a 41 model. Rotations involve two hospitals Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital & Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and 3 continuity clinic settings. The program prides itself in outstanding performance metrics related to recruitment fellowship placement board pass rate and curricular innovation. The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is comprised of approximately 150 paid and more than 300 volunteer faculty members organized into 11 divisions covering the major medical subspecialties: Allergy Immunology and Infectious Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Education; Endocrinology Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical Oncology; Nephrology; Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology. The Departments clinical mission encompasses inpatient and ambulatory care settings at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (the primary teaching hospital of the medical school) and at various hospital affiliates and ambulatory care sites throughout the region.
