Rutgers the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Associate III for the Public Health Research Institute within New Jersey Medical School. Research Associate opportunities are available to study the mechanism of fungal inositol function in the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. By applying molecular biology biochemistry and system biology we aim to investigate the molecular basis of Cryptococcus-host interactions and antifungal drug resistance. Successful candidate is responsible to design and conduct highly specialized molecular research in the area of Cryptococcus. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Conduct research activities on projects to investigate the molecular mechanisms of Cryptococcus-host interactions focusing on the role of fungal phospholipids in antifungal drug resistance and fungal pathogenesis independently or as assigned followed by appropriate reports recommendations and conclusions. Interface with internal and external collaborators on the research projects. Generates compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions recommendations etc. pertinent to research activity. Train new students and visitors in research area focused on Cryptococcus pathogenesis and antifungal resistance. Provide managerial support for the daily operations within the Xue Lab. Support manuscript and grant writing. Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in the Rutgers Corporate Compliance Policy Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
