Job Description

GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc.is a quickly growing company that designs and manufactures underwater acoustic transducers and systems for a variety of applications including defense and homeland security ocean science and oil and gas. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-op/student to join our supply chain team as a Purchasing Coordinator for the summer. This role is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management. The successful candidate will assist in various purchasing activities including vendor follow-ups metrics production and material expediting. This position is available as a summer work term placement.

Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management:Follow up with vendors to check on delivery status and ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Metrics Production:Produce and analyze metrics for the supply chain department to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Material Expediting:Work with project teams to expedite materials and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records of purchase orders delivery schedules and vendor communications.
  • Communication:Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve any issues related to procurement and delivery.
  • Support:Assist the Supply Chain Manager with various administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Participate in organizational occupational health and safety education prevention promotion and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree or diploma program in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain Canadian Government Security (Reliability) Clearance and Canadian Controlled Goods clearance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
