Southeastern Louisiana Universitys Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability invites applications for the position of Director of Student Development and Leadership Training. The Director of Student Development and Leadership Training reports to the Dean of Students and collaborates with the Director for Student Advocacy and the Director of Compliance on all student disciplinary matters and associated training. This individual acts as the lead investigator for Title IX and power-based violence cases fulfilling all necessary roles in case adjudications and separation of processes as mandated by state and federal regulations. The Director co-leads Title IX and power-based violence awareness training and outreach initiatives for the campus community. Additionally this role manages plans organizes and directs training to enhance student growth and development. Responsibilities include designing and delivering a comprehensive training portfolio for faculty and staff on topics significantly impacting students. The Director will lead initiatives that develop student understanding of laws regulations and policies; and carryout special projects assigned by the Vice President and Dean.
Note: This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours for training sessions workshops or special events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree from an accredited university by hire date.
Experience working in higher education with direct engagement with students.
Experience in planning and delivering training or educational programming.
Experience with policy development and implementation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Higher Education Administration Student Affairs Counseling Criminal Justice or a related field.
Certification or formal training in Title IX investigation or compliance.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in student conduct Title IX compliance or related higher education administrative roles.
Demonstrated experience conducting investigations and writing formal investigative reports.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to Title IX and power-based violence.
Experience working with Maxient or similar student conduct case management software.
Background in student leadership development or co-curricular education.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills particularly word processing spreadsheets and database management.
Ability to complete multiple assignments within provided time constraints with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated commitment to data-driven decision-making including effective analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals.
Self-starter who works well independently but who also thrives in a team environment sharing ideas and working collaboratively.
