Position Overview:

Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking an experienced applicant to serve the role ofRelated Services Coordinator. The Coordinator works closely with the Director of Special Education to develop high-quality service programming for all students. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all related services programming to ensure all students with disabilities receive appropriate services and support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • A valid Ohio teaching license or commensurate experience
  • At least three years of experience in special education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree
  • A valid Ohio administrative license
  • At least five years of experience in special education

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operations of the related services staff within the Department of Diverse Learners and Whole Child Supports including but not limited to assigning workloads monitoring staff schedules and calendars monitoring the budgets and resources coordinating training and services
  • Works collaboratively with district administrators educational staff parents and community partners to coordinate provide and continuously improve services to students
  • Provides staff with leadership and guidance; helps resolve problems that negatively impact student achievement and/or student/staff safety; and works to resolve conflict(s)
  • Serves as a liaison between administrators and related services staff
  • Collaborates with educational teams to identify and implement research-based and evidence-based interventions to address students academic adaptive social-emotional and behavioral needs
  • Plans organizes and conducts comprehensive professional development opportunities; conducts related services meetings and trainings; disseminates information in a timely manner; and participates in professional growth opportunities
  • Ensures paperwork is accurate and all timelines and deadlines are met (annual reviews progress reports mileage expense forms etc.) and assists with collecting student and staff data for educational management information (EMIS) reporting and deadlines.
  • Complies with federal and state laws models policies and procedures and sets rules and regulations for the education of students with disabilities maintains confidentialitystrictly adheres to HIPPA and FERPA respects personal privacy and maintains confidentiality of privileged information
  • Assists in the recruitment hiring orientation and evaluation of staff
  • Coordinate Medicaid billing and develop processes for timely completion by responsible staff
  • Incorporates and promotes instructional assistive and other types of technology and upholds the acceptable use policy.
  • Coordinate related service programming for students with disabilities district-wide including transition students/Grade 23 students students outplaced as well as scholarship students where applicable
  • Ensures appropriate delivery of related services in accordance with students IEP
  • Conducts IEP verifications to ensure proper implementation of evaluations IEP reviews compliance processes procedures and delivery of specially designed instruction for district-placed students as well as those utilizing the Autism and Jon Peterson Scholarship
  • Provides training and technical assistance to all staff including case managers intervention specialists general education teachers related service providers administrators and support service professionals on various special education and related service topics
  • Create in collaboration with the Department of Diverse Learners and Whole Child Supports processes and procedures for onsite hybrid and virtual school psychologists as well as develop systems and processes for training of school psychologists for the RCS model of service coordinate and lead bi-weekly team meetings coordinate professional development for and support the overall function of school psychology team responsibilities
  • Assists in the implementation of the district-wide internal monitoring process
  • Effectively communicates to all stakeholders the special education process including the process for referrals evaluations annual plans and re-evaluations
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the principals and the human resources department to assist in hiring and talent acquisition
  • Support the development of the Districts MTSS process and ensure compliance with processes
  • Assists with the development of the Districts PBIS process and ensures compliance with processes
  • Works with the building teams the Director of Special Education and providers in relation but not limited to students attending career centers students district placed relative agencies students using Autism and Jon Peterson Scholarship
  • Assists the Special Education Coordinators with Autism Education Plans
  • Supports the development of behavioral management including developing mental health alliances and supports
  • Builds and manages positive relationships and engages with out-of-district services
  • Supports the planning of special education initiatives and their implementation
  • Integrates research-based best practices into ongoing programs and new initiatives
  • Stays abreast of all legal requirements governing special education and their application to programs in Reynoldsburg City Schools
  • Evaluates related service staff
  • Process Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Scholarship applications districtwide in the Autism Scholarship portal in collaboration with district personnel and providers
  • Oversees and maintains an inventory of special education equipment and materials as it relates to related services implementation
  • Makes budget and staffing recommendations regarding related service needs
  • Demonstrate commitment to service and excellent communication skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of staff and student records and general information
  • Maintain accurate records and possess analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Adapts to unique circumstances and factors such as travel extended hours student behaviors lifting/transferring students interactions with aggressive/disruptive individuals etc.
  • Serves as a role model in upholding high ethical and professional standards ( state and Federal regulations maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct promotes a favorable image of the district etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. The employee is required to sit or stand and move around for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to push pull lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Working Conditions The employee in this position may experience occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue. The employee may also be required to interact with unruly children.
  • Driving Requirement This position may require driving.
