Job Description Summary

As innovators in advanced power conversion and storage systems we support our utility and industrial customers by solving their toughest electrification challenges and accelerating their transition to a sustainable carbon-neutral future. GE Vernovas Power Conversion & Storage business works closely with customers in energy-intensive industries. We focus on delivering integrated electrical systems a strategy aligned with three major macrotrends: energy security energy storage and industrial electrification.

As a key member of a global and matrixed design team the Program Manager (m/w/d) is responsible for managing NTI NPI and DMP programs ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and delivered on time and within budget. This role plays a critical part in communication risk management and decision-making while also driving continuous improvement across the organizations program Program Manager (m/w/d) will collaborate with cross-functional global teams to lead high-impact programs that involve both hardware and software components with a focus on power electronic drives for Solar Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Industrial applications.

Job Description

The Program manager (m/w/d) as a member of Power Conversion & Storage team will be a self-drive candidate responsible to lead complete portfolio programs and should be able to:

  • Understand product requirements derive design scope breakdown requirements to tasks to manage in JIRA and Smartsheet.
  • Run periodic scrums to manage sprints and daily issues.
  • Proactively develop maintain drive and communicate project timelines to broader cross-functional team.
  • Lead and drive the program with timelines and accountable for budget.
  • Manage product risk & changes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Periodic dashboard updates on program status.
  • Demonstrate Cost-out mind set on the product design during the NPI program life cycle.
  • Identify and evaluate sources of new product parts in partnership with Sourcing.
  • Work with Manufacturing to understand production issues facilitate to resolve product issues with the help of design team.
  • Lead & facilitate design reviews track formal actions to closure.
  • Smooth transition of product solution to projects team.
  • Understand fleet issues perform root cause analysis & facilitate design team for resolution.
  • Ensure continuous communication and update to all stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate the program lessons learned both during project gates and after milestones and delivery.
  • Support organizational continuous quality improvement processes to reduce defects in parts repairs and service.
  • Other responsibilities include working closely with Product Management Sales Design Consultancies Marketing Communications Supply Chain Suppliers and Customer Support to deliver winning product that ensure incremental revenue customer satisfaction time to market and margin goals are met.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering ideally with a strong passion for program and project management.

  • Several years of professional experience in program management preferably in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects involving power electronic drives for solar battery energy storage (BESS) and industrial application.

  • Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2.

  • Hands-on experience with project and task management tools such as JIRA Confluence and Smartshee.

  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.

  • Good IT skills and Experience with the Microsoft packages PLM SAP or equivalent EPR knowledge.
  • Awareness on power electronic drives and solutions for industry and renewable application.
