TMHC Inc. is currently recruiting for an individual to manage our archaeological laboratory. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for all facets of laboratory operations from staff supervision the scheduling planning and completion of laboratory projects collections management and corporate procedures and policies with respect to artifact process analysis storage and transfer. The Laboratory Manager works as part of a larger team of professionals who enact or manage various facets of archaeological assessment projects undertaken as part of larger environmental assessment and land use planning initiatives. The Laboratory Manager directly supervises laboratory specialists artifact analysts and individuals undertaking specialist analysis such as paleobotanical and faunal analysis. From time to time the Laboratory Manager may also participate in various types of public outreach from organizing and delivering public displays and activities to conference presentations to publications.
The Laboratory Manager position is integral to TMHC as an organization and is the face of the corporation in the larger archaeological discipline and is expected to have extensive experience in artifact analysis and material cultural research. Given these responsibilities TMHC is hoping to fill this position at the Unit or Division Manager level salary to be commensurate with previous experience in the management of laboratory staff and projects working within a fast-paced consulting environment and with demonstrated ability to enact strategies to meet project deadlines.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of our London Ontario office.
Salary will be commensurate with experience (starting at $89964.32 to $95587.09per annum based on a 40 hour work week).
Minimum 5 years experience managing employees and technical deliverables within a laboratory setting in an archaeological setting preferable in cultural resource management.
Development of Laboratory Processes and Procedures
o Creation and implementation of templates policies and procedures
o Coordinate and conduct quality control on processes and deliverables

o Management of collections database
Expertise in laboratory operations and management
Expertise in artifact processing and analysis
