Job Description
Quality Assurance Oversight
Supervise daily QA operations including in-process and final inspections of castings.
Ensure compliance with quality standards specifications and customer requirements.
Implement and maintain inspection procedures for raw materials in-process and finished goods.
Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor product quality and identify recurring issues or non-conformities.
Generate and analyze quality performance metrics such as defect rates rejection trends and audit findings.
Prepare daily and monthly QA reports for management.
Documentation & Standards
Maintain QA documentation including inspection reports calibration records and control plans.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Assist in internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions.
Team Supervision & Training
Lead and guide a team of quality inspectors and technicians.
Provide technical training on inspection methods tools and quality standards.
Conduct periodic performance evaluations and coaching.
Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis
Support cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Participate in customer complaint investigations and response coordination.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with production maintenance and engineering departments to resolve quality issues.
Communicate quality concerns and best practices across teams.
Support new product development and validation activities from a QA perspective.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Metallurgy Mechanical Engineering Industrial Technology or related field.
5 years of experience in quality assurance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferably in a foundry or metal casting industry.
Strong understanding of steel and iron casting processes and defect analysis.
Familiarity with inspection tools (CMM gauges NDT methods) and quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting tolerances.
Excellent leadership analytical and communication skills.
Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g. 5 Why Fishbone Diagram) and lean quality techniques.
