Role Summary

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function of Bowtie overseeing financial reporting financial operations and compliance while driving financial strategy and process improvements. This role ensures the accuracy of financial statements the efficiency of financial processes and the strength of internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise leadership skills and experience in the insurance industry.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management auditors regulators and stakeholders.
- Lead the year-end audit process liaising with external auditors and implementing audit recommendations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements (e.g. IFRS 17 local statutory filings).
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
Financial Operations & Control
- Oversee accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and treasury functions ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage cash flow investments and capital allocation in alignment with the companys strategy.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and mitigate financial risks.
- Optimize financial systems and processes to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with underwriting claims and actuarial teams to ensure the accurate integration of financial data.
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead mentor and develop the finance team and foster a high-performance culture.
- Partner with the CFO and executive team on financial planning budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide insights and analysis to support business decisions profitability and growth initiatives.
- Identify and implement cost optimization and process improvement opportunities.
About you
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience:
- 12 years of progressive finance experience with 3 years in a leadership role within the insurance/financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of insurance accounting (IFRS 17 SAP reserving reinsurance).
- Solid experience with financial reporting audit and regulatory compliance for insurers.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
