Job Description
Permanent Physician Assistant-Cardiology Day Shift
Location: Austin TX 78735
Shift: Full Time Days 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
- Perform comprehensive or problem-focused physical exams and histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs and imaging.
- Prescribe and manage appropriate drug therapies and treatments.
- Develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Educate and counsel patients and families about conditions treatment options lifestyle and medication adherence.
- Document assessments treatment plans and follow-up in patient records.
- Initiate referrals and consultations when needed.
- Provide consultative and direct patient care in various settings (e.g. clinic inpatient emergency).
- Perform procedures as permitted by credentialing and scope of practice.
- Work beyond standard hours as needed to meet departmental coverage requirements.
- Knowledge of human anatomy pathophysiology and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests
- Strong communication interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with EHR and related computer applications
- Ability to formulate evidence-based treatment plans
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Compassionate patient-focused care delivery
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Experience: Open to new grads (Less than 1 year of experience required)
- License:
- Active Physician Assistant (PA) license in the State of Texas
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)-must be obtained within 30 days of hire
