Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack (Java and React)

• Design code and systems that touch the world population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability security and reusability 

• Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings

• Actively contribute to product quality improvements value added service technology and new business flows in diverse agile squads

• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-users b2c and b2b customers

Essential Functions:

• Works alongside others to implement modifications to existing software code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.

• Assists with improvements to systems and tools and supports development and implementation of new automation asking questions as necessary.

• Engages with team members during code/design reviews participates in on-call rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.

• Working closely with engineering leads engineers product manager architects and client support teams lead product development throughout the entire development cycle. This role requires logical thinking possesses a breadth of knowledge on applying technology quick troubleshooting and problem solving skills

• Consistently apply sound engineering practices leading to improved business outcomes

• Work closely with product owners architects and team members to drive and facilitate feature and user story grooming write functional and technical specifications workflow designs and use cases

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization

• Be flexible to accommodate cross-region team development/collaboration and address urgent production issues

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications
2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree OR 5 years of relevant work experience
BS degree in computer science or other related fields with a minimum 4 years of experience in Java and web service development -OR-
MS degree in computer science or other related fields with a minimum 2 years of experience in Java and web service development.
Track record of delivering scalable applications.
In-depth knowledge in web services standards and related technologies REST API Microservices Javascript and Containers.
Solid understanding of database technologies including SQL JPA.

Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
Strong foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures algorithms and software design.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to respond resourcefully to new demands priorities and challenges.
Strong interpersonal facilitation and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to present ideas precisely and convey development concepts related to network application and systems - to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong teamwork-focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams and across geographies.
Passionate about learning and taking on new initiatives and takes pride in delivering quality software.
Proficiency with Agile Development Techniques
Experience in Web development is a plus
Experience in Identity solutions like oAuth OpenID Connect SAML security tokens (JWS JWE access token id token) or other IAM is a big plus.

Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105800.00 to 149550.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
