Job Description

Job Summary
The Apprenticeship Navigator is a key member of the Workforce Development team responsible for the coordination expansion and sustainability of Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) at Texas Southmost College ( TSC ). This role serves as the central liaison between apprentices employers school districts and workforce agencies ensuring program quality compliance and alignment with labor market demands. The Navigator supports all phases of apprenticeship development from outreach and enrollment to mentorship and performance reporting with a goal of fostering meaningful career pathways and supporting economic mobility across the region.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of apprenticeship programs ensuring alignment with grant goals TWC / DOL standards and industry needs. Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple RAPs and pre-apprenticeship pipelines. Manage program timelines milestones and deliverables using real-time tracking systems and dashboards. Provide individualized support and mentorship to apprentices throughout their training. Connect apprentices with wraparound services such as transportation assistance and tuition support in coordination with Workforce Solutions. Track apprentice progress credential attainment and employment outcomes. Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers industry associations and advisory councils. Organize quarterly employer roundtables and collaborative events to support program feedback and growth. Formalize On-the-Job Learning ( OJL ) agreements employer incentives and curriculum alignment with workforce needs. Coordinate targeted outreach campaigns using digital marketing community events and school district engagement. Collaborate with ISDs (e.g. Brownsville and Point Isabel) to build pre-apprenticeship pipelines for high school students. Deploy and oversee apprenticeship ambassadors to promote programs among prospective participants. Register apprentices in the DOL RAPIDS system and ensure employer partners comply with progress and wage reporting. Submit accurate quarterly and annual reports to the Texas Workforce Commission ( TWC ) and other funding entities. Monitor and enforce compliance with all grant requirements and internal audit protocols. Collaborate with the grants management team to track budgets OJL reimbursements and program expenditures. Utilize software systems like Helping Hands and Cash Draw and Expenditure Reporting ( CDER ) for financial tracking and compliance documentation. Support the preparation of monthly and final grant performance reports. Coordinate the delivery and digital archiving of industry-recognized stackable credentials. Ensure all instructional materials and assessments are integrated into TWCs statewide repository. Work with faculty and employers to align curriculum with industry standards and certifications. May require travel to employer sites community events or school districts. Occasional evening or weekend hours for events or outreach activities. Hybrid work flexibility may be available depending on departmental needs Other duties as assigned.
