This job is listed as HYBRID and onsite work of up to three days per week required from Dearborn MI location.

The main function of the position involves creating Engineering Design and Testing (ED&T) financial targets for engineering commodities identified for change on a particular program. Targets are set using historical data. The candidate will be part of the pre workstream for a program and supports through . Involves using excel based tools develop key opportunities create power point presentations and interact with program management architectural and engineering teams.



Responsibilities

Reporting to the PD Indirect Engineering Efficiency Supervisor this position leads the development of Engineering Design and Testing financial targets to support program-driven commodity changes. Key aspects of the position include:

  • Direct interface with Key internal teams (Finance Purchasing PD Functions Program)
  • Define and align targets. Develop presentation materials for senior management report-outs
  • Partner with key operating stakeholders to manage cross-functional dependencies Leverage internal expert network to drive solutions
  • Own assessment of project status to support lean-based metrics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of and the evaluation of supplier Engineering Design and Testing (ED&T) costs to identify cost optimization opportunities. Build relationships as one of the subject matter experts for ED&T
  • Lead key aspects of project management and support interface across functional teams
  • Work closely with partners to facilitate issue resolution and escalation as needed; Develop recommendations where appropriate


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering strongly preferred(Electrical Electro-Mechanical Electronics Software Systems Mechatronics or similar)
  • 5 years of experience asProduct development engineer purchasing lead project manager or similar in the automotive industry.
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral; ability to influence outcomes
  • Product Development processes knowledge: milestones and deliverables program timing
  • Process oriented; organized; strong project management skills
  • Proactive with the ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Systemic thinking: the ability to synthesize quickly and influence decisions
  • Strong business acumen including negotiation skills; cross-functional experience an asset
  • Proficiency in data management
  • Demonstrated history of driving agile transformation in a costing environment
  • Exceptional communication (oral & written) facilitation team building conflict resolution and collaboration skills in cross-functional diverse environments. Able to work independently and as a team member
  • Data driven and strong experience in MS Excel and MS Office Program execution

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 .
