IDEAL CANDIDATE
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications statedbelow the ideal candidate will have demonstrated a track record of success inthe following areas:

We are currently recruiting to establish a countywideeligible list that will be used by any County department or agency needing tofill a vacancy in this classification. There are immediate vacancies intheHealth Care Service AgencyTreasurer-Tax CollectorDepartmentand theSheriffsOffice.
EITHER PATTERN I
Experience:
The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the class of Accountant-Auditor in the Alameda County classified service.
OR PATTERN II
Experience:
The equivalent of four (4) years full-time increasingly responsible professional accounting auditing or administrative experience which included significant accounting/fiscal duties and responsibilities.
Substitution:
Possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in accounting finance or other closely related field may be substituted for three years of the required experience.
NOTE:The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.

THE EXAMINATION WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
1. A review of applicants applications to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the classification will move on to the next step in the testing.
2. A written examination.
3.A virtual oral examination which will be weighted as 100% of the candidates final examination score. The oral interview may contain situational exercises.
Candidates must attain a qualifying rating on each portion of this examination.

The County utilizes a Civil Service Selection System founded on merit.
