Territory Sales Manager (Remote with Travel)

About the Role

A leading precision motion solutions company is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive business development across Southern California. This is a high-impact relationship-driven role focused on expanding the adoption of customized linear motion systems and embedded mechatronics across high-growth verticals such as automation medical devices electronics manufacturing and robotics integration.

You will be responsible for managing the full sales cyclefrom technical discovery and solution consulting to quoting negotiation and account expansion. Supported by in-house engineering and applications teams youll serve as a strategic partner to OEMs integrators and advanced manufacturers seeking speed precision and reliability in their automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Ownership: Drive pipeline development lead generation and account growth across the assigned Midwest region.
    • Solution Selling: Conduct technical discovery and consult with customers to deliver customized linear motion and mechatronics solutions that align with their design and performance needs.
    • Account Management: Build maintain and grow long-term relationships with OEMs integrators and strategic end users.
      • Quoting & Proposals: Collaborate with internal engineering product and operations teams to deliver timely competitive quotes and solutions.
    • CRM proficiency (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot).
    • Experience with linear actuators bearings or motion components is a strong plus.
    • Prior experience working with a vertically integrated manufacturer or high-mix low-volume environment is advantageous.

3. Compensation: Base salary uncapped commissions and full benefits.

  • Market Development: Identify new industry segments and use cases for motion systems; actively contribute to product feedback and positioning.
    • CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate activity tracking opportunity management and forecasting in the companys CRM system.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 5 years of technical sales experience in motion control mechatronics automation or industrial machinery. Background in electric motors or actuators is a plus.
  • Territory Knowledge: Familiarity with the Southern California manufacturing and automation ecosystem is highly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or a related technical discipline.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of mechanical systems motion components or automation systems. Able to speak fluently with engineers and operations leaders.

    Sales Mindset: Proven ability to hunt close and grow accounts. Comfortable managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.

  • Travel Ready: Willingness to travel within the territory for client meetings tradeshows and site visits (approx. 4060%).
