Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Health Safety and Wellbeing Assistant on a 4- Months contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 90.76- 119.5 per hour

Summary:

The Health Safety and Wellbeing Assistant plays a vital support role in promoting and maintaining health safety and wellbeing standards across the council. Working closely with the Head of Health Safety and Wellbeing and Advisors the post holder will assist with project delivery data reporting technical support and coordination tasks aligned with relevant legislation policies and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of health safety and wellbeing projects and maintain systems such as SHE Assure.
  • Monitor and update the councils digital health and safety resources (e.g. the staffroom).
  • Provide administrative and coordination support including managing shared inboxes and triaging queries.
  • Represent the council in forums or meetings such as South West Councils Safety Panels.
  • Contribution to the delivery of the Health Safety and Wellbeing Strategy and compliance with legislation.
  • Coordination of the Health and Safety audit programme and associated documentation.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a team and supporting health safety and wellbeing professionals.
  • Experience in preparing documents maintaining systems and promoting workplace wellbeing.
  • Experience working in large public sector organisations.
  • Experience triaging and prioritising health and safety incident reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade 9-4/A*-C) including English and Maths.
  • Level 3 IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or working towards).
