Senior Manager, Project Management, Customer Channels (Hybrid)

Were looking for a leader experienced in project and program management to join our team which focuses on delivery for high priority strategic initiatives across the Customer Channels organization. The ideal candidate is a passionate motivated leader with proven ability to lead high performing teams with great attention to detail organization and communication skills including exceptional storytelling. This individual will have a drive for solving cross-functional problems through building relationships and partnering across teams (Operations Strategy / Analysis Product HR Risk Communications other job families) creating structure to help teams get to solutions more quickly and have experience leading projects involving people changes tech / platform transformations risk / governance and various other topics. Interested candidates should be self-led are team players and will optimally possess foundational knowledge of various operating processes.

Who We Are:

The Channels Strategic Initiatives (CSI) delivery team horizontally supports initiatives across Customer Channels within the Card and Customer Services & Strategy (CS&S) organization

Our team is responsible for:

• Portfolio Management (tracking and influencing the strategic priorities of the organization)

• Delivery (project and program management) for the top strategic priorities of the organization

General Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple moderate to large complex programs and provide strategic direction to team members in a matrixed environment and put structure in place quickly to drive results

• Partner cross-functionally with various stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnerships to effectively drive strategic planning and delivery

• Communicate across all levels to drive results and elevate key decision-points to leadership

• Design develop and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment and ensure programs and initiatives are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and on time delivery

• Simplify complex problems and drive collaboration on decisions across multiple stakeholders

• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

• Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style

• Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage inform and influence outcomes

• Note: This role will be an individual contributor role but could include the possibility of being a people leader at some point in the future

An Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• Passion around people leadership and highly disciplined self-starter project professional that can work autonomously and proactively drive results with minimal direction with ability to manage multiple projects and work streams simultaneously including competing priorities

• Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and can communicate effectively within a team as well as to senior leaders / broader audiences

• Transformational story telling ability and can elevate risks as well influence partners and key stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization

• A proven track record of project and program management bringing the ability to translate concepts into outcomes by quickly building structural frameworks and leading change management

• A demonstrated competency in critical thinking and problem solving breaking down large complex projects into manageable bodies of work and can implement improvements to mitigate issues

• A balance of both attention to detail and a holistic understanding of the strategy / outcome through what are often ambiguous problem / scope statements

• The ability to work as part of a team in an open and collaborative environment and stay calm under pressure to manage rapidly changing priorities

Location: This role is hybrid where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in office and the remainder of the week working virtually

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma GED or Equivalent Certification

• At least 5 years of Project or Process Management Experience

• At least 3 years of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office

• At least 2 years of Relationship Management Experience

• At least 1 year of People Leadership Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree

• At least 8 years of Project Management experience

• At least 5 years of Relationship Management Experience

• At least 3 years of People Leadership Experience

• Six Sigma Lean or PMP Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
