Who are we looking for

The Security System Engineer takes part in security related system studies related to secure navigation and communication systems and drives development of these systems.

The Security System Engineer works closely with the development team to ensure that the embedded system is secure and compliant with relevant standards. He/she will be responsible for defining the architecture of the secure system and for identifying and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities. Additionally he/she will be responsible for staying up-to-date on the latest security technologies and trends and for providing guidance and direction to the engineering team on how to incorporate these technologies into our systems.

Responsibilities:

• You will participate in system level studies in an international environment working closely with institutional as well as industrial partners
• You will help define security flows and requirements at system level and appropriate hardware/software partitioning to meet overall security objectives working together with hardware and software engineers
• You will break down high-level concepts to base components with enough detail for a developer to implement
• You will provide guidance and support to engineering teams on security best practices.
• You will work together with external evaluators and accreditation bodies
• You will identify and define mitigation for potential security risks.
• You will interface with customers to understand critical security requirements and deployment scenarios
• You will support post-implementation analysis security testing and delivery of secure products to customers
• You will keep up with latest security threat modeling/assessment and certification requirements

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of or interest in cryptographic algorithms and protocols
• Knowledge of or interest in tamper and tempest protection methods
• Experience with FPGA-based System-on-Chip devices
• Experience with the ARM or RISC-V chipset and its firmware security features
• Experience developing in embedded C/C
• High-level understanding of digital hardware / FPGA / VHDL coding
• High-level understanding of software development flows and best practices
• Prior experience developing and/or integrating security architectures from idea to specification to design & implementation
• Prior experience dealing with security audits and general awareness of latest trends and developments

Mandatory Requirements :

• Eligible for a EU security clearance (EU citizen or eligible for citizenship and living in the EU for at least 10 years)
• Prepared to travel regularly for short trips within the EU
