About The Opportunity
This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the presentation and functionality of various Council community facilities. A significant focus of the role is supporting operations at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct where you will be responsible for operating a range of plant equipment and undertaking minor maintenance on facilities and associated infrastructure. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and is committed to supporting well-maintained safe and welcoming community spaces.
About You
- Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check Police Certificate (Australia wide name only)
- Qualifications for operating vehicles and relevant item/s of plant; including possession of current Drivers Licence Class C; (Special Vehicle endorsement - Class UD & Class MR or HR is desirable).
- Construction Industry General Safety Induction (White Card).
- Demonstrated very high level of experience in the operation and basic maintenance of relevant item/s of plant.
- A very high-level knowledge of relevant processes and procedures including Workplace Health and Safety obligations.
- Demonstrated very high level of knowledge and experience in maintenance and improvement of natural environments landscape and horticultural environments; (a Certificate II or higher in a Horticultural related field a Chainsaw Ticket and Herbicide Operator Ticket (AC/DC) is desirable).
- Demonstrated very high level of ability to perform a wide range of labouring gardening cleaning improvement maintenance and repair activities within the natural and built environments
- Demonstrated very high level of ability to work effectively under limited supervision ensuring that outcomes are achieved.
- Demonstrated high level of good verbal communication skills.
- Certificate II or higher in Horticultural related field desirable.
- A chainsaw ticket desirable.
- Herbicide operator ticket (AC/DC) desirable.
- Special Vehicle Endorsement Class UD & Class MR or HR desirable.
