Job Description
Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with aa prestigious construction company operating globally with an impressive revenue of $30 billion. They are seeking atalented Field Accountant (Project Accountant) to play a crucial role in managing the full accounting function. This includes overseeing accounts payable and receivable cost accounting budgeting and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and be able to provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
Title: Field Accountant
Location: Chicago IL
Salary Range: $80000 - $90000 bonus
Job Type: Permanent / Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for construction projects.
- Generate financial reports including budget vs. actual analysis and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Assist in preparing monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor budgets.
- Track expenditures against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Process invoices purchase orders and vendor payments accurately.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable with vendors and subcontractors.
- Manage billing and collections for projects.
- Implement effective cost management strategies.
- Conduct site visits to review project progress and financial status.
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience with construction experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to construction sites.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
