Job Description
Synerfac is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client in Charlottesville VA. Our client is a medical manufacturer that deliver less-invasive superior outcomes for surgeons and their patients.
The Cost Accountant will oversee and enhance inventory accounting processes across the company. This role will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve costing workflows ensuring accuracy in reporting and supporting business decisions that drive profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all cost accounting functions including development and continuous improvement of standard costing practices.
- Execute month-end quarter-end and year-end closing tasks ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost-related entries.
- Analyze actual profit margins and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve company profitability.
- Facilitate monthly cycle counts and report inventory variances.
- Collaborate with Sales Marketing R&D and Operations to cost new items.
- Support cross-functional teams with accounting input on key projects and initiatives.
- Maintain and update fixed asset listings and depreciation schedules.
- Provide analytical support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- 3 years of Cost Accounting experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems required.
- Lean manufacturing and/or activity-based costing required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
