HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Tax is a high-impact executive role responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive enterprise tax strategy that aligns with the companys long-term objectives and regulatory obligations. Operating within a private-equity owned consumer goods and manufacturing enterprise this leader will oversee all aspects of tax compliance identify opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the organizations effective tax rate. This position directly supports the CFO and Audit Committee and serves as the strategic liaison to the Board of Directors on all tax-related matters.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Tax Leadership
Lead the development of tax strategies that optimize the effective tax rate and cash flow while ensuring full compliance with International laws and regulations.
Evaluate the tax implications of complex corporate activities including mergers acquisitions restructuring and international expansion.
Advise senior leadership and the Board on emerging tax policy regulatory changes and structural optimization opportunities.
Tax Reporting & Compliance
Direct the accurate and timely preparation of tax provisions under ASC 740 and ensure full alignment with SEC reporting standards (10-K 10-Q earnings releases).
Manage compliance with all applicable tax jurisdictions including U.S. federal state local and international tax filings.
Oversee audit defense controversy management and responses to taxing authorities.
Board and Executive-Level Reporting
Prepare and present executive-level tax updates to the Audit Committee.
Provide visibility into key tax positions policy shifts and financial exposures through memosand scenario planning.
Operational Oversight & Team Development
Lead and develop the tax team with a focus on accountability collaboration and professional growth.
Drive standardization process improvement and digital transformation across tax reporting and compliance activities.
Partner with Treasury Accounting Legal and Business Units to support integrated financial decision-making.
Risk Management & Governance
Strong command of tax risk assessment frameworks and internal control environments; known for setting a high bar for ethics transparency and accountability.
Establish and enforce strong internal controls ensuring tax policies align with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and US GAAP standards.
Oversee the implementation of tax technologies to enhance transparency and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strategic Vision: Capable of designing and leading a forward-looking tax strategy that aligns with business growth manufacturing footprint and global expansion.
Board-Ready Communication: Able to distill and present complex tax matters to non-technical senior audiences including Directors auditors and external stakeholders.
Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on technical expertise in U.S. corporate tax indirect taxes and tax accounting standards.
Executive Influence: Adept at managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior decision-makers through data-driven insights and clear recommendations.
People Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead coach and scale a high-performing tax team; recognized as a builder of talent and culture.
Operational Excellence: Experience deploying tax technology platforms and optimizing processes for compliance efficiency audit readiness and reporting accuracy.
Education Certification and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required; active licensure required.
Masters degree in Taxation Accounting Business Administration is preferred.
Continuing professional education (CPE) in U.S. GAAP ASC 740 and public company compliance is expected.
Minimum 1520 years of progressive leadership experience in corporate tax with at least 710 years in a senior executive or SVP/VP role at a public company or within a Big Four advisory capacity.
Demonstrated success leading complex tax operations for a multi-entity manufacturing or consumer goods organization including:
Managing U.S. federal state local and international compliance
Overseeing transfer pricing and intercompany strategies
Extensive experience with:
ASC 740 tax provision management
SEC reporting and 10-Q/10-K disclosures
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control environments
Proven track record leading audits and managing relationships with taxing authorities.
Strong familiarity with M&A due diligence entity restructuring and integration from a tax standpoint.
Experience presenting to and partnering with Board-level stakeholders Audit Committees and executive leadership.
