We are looking for an estimator within water/sewer and Heavy Civil who would like to work with an amazing group.Projects are complex and our client is offering an abundance of learning opportunities to even the most experienced individual. - Review plans and specifications to determinescope of work and define project requirements.
- Outline and communicate project requirements and timelines.
- Review drawings and understand design intent.
- Liaise with clients sub-contractors approval authorities project stakeholders and contractors.
- Solicit quotes and tendering contracts from consultants trades people and suppliers.
- Issuing purchase orders subcontracts and prepare construction schedules.
- Prepare quantity take-offs for labour materialsequipment and sub-contractors.
- Quote contemplated changes notices and manage change orders.
- Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with manger and foreman to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Manage site instructions RFIs and responses.
- Liaise with clients addressing any concerns.
- Minimum 3-5years of experience estimating or managing heavy civil construction projects and budgets.
- Degree in civil engineering or engineering tech.
- Exceptional communication skills and good industry exposure (earthworks excavation water/sewer municipal work).
- Proven ability to communicate with clients stakeholders and construction teams.
- Knowledge of municipal and provincial design standards.
- Experience with estimating and project management software.
- Experience with digital terrain and modeling software
- Skilled in cost estimating and specification writing.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
- Experience with Auto Cad and MS Office applications
