Job Description

The Position

REIWA is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Officer to join our Finance team for a 12-month parental leave contract. This hands-on role will be responsible for a wide range of transactional and operational accounting duties that ensure the accuracy integrity and timeliness of our financial data.

Youll be part of a collaborative team working closely with internal business units to provide finance support and reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the operations of a values-driven organisation that supports the WA real estate community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices process credit notes and manage accounts receivable functions including debt collection and reconciliations.
  • Process and reconcile various income streams including EFT BPAY credit cards and direct debits.
  • Handle accounts payable processes: invoice entry approval coordination supplier statement reconciliation and EFT payments.
  • Process payroll for both permanent and casual staff including reconciliations leave accruals superannuation and payroll tax.
  • Perform monthly and annual reconciliations across bank accounts credit cards training reports sponsorship registers and other balance sheet items.
  • Support monthly reporting including journals depreciation revenue recognition and variance analysis with business units.
  • Assist with budget preparation and year-end audit processes by preparing accurate and professional financial reports.
  • Provide ad hoc support across finance functions during peak periods or staff absences.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of accounting software and systems
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • High attention to detail numeracy and data accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
  • Previous experience using NetSuite/Salesforce CRM (desirable)
