Overview
Position Summary:
The Epic Analyst III serves as a subject matter expert in Epic applications leading system enhancements troubleshooting complex issues and advising stakeholders on best practices. This role involves greater independence in managing projects implementing optimizations and mentoring junior analysts.
Qualifications
Educational:
Bachelors degree in health informatics Information Systems Clinical Healthcare or a related field is preferred.
Epic Certification:
Certification upon hire
ClinDoc certification preferred
Certification in two or more Epic modules (e.g. EpicCare Ambulatory Willow Orders Epic Resolute Epic Inpatient Epic Ambulatory OpTime Radiant Beaker etc.) required within 1 year hire.
Other Requirements:
- Five or more years of experience in Information Technology including project management advanced support management or other similar experience required. Relevant system experience in EMR systems is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Epic configuration optimization and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Experience in project management and process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Epic system design configuration and maintenance is preferred.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead configuration build and maintenance of Epic applications to align with business needs.
- Responsible for system testing issue resolution and application troubleshooting.
- Optimize workflows to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Provide end-user support training and documentation.
- Perform system demonstrations and training sessions for staff.
- Partner with clinical and operational teams to assess system needs and enhancements.
- Work closely with IT project managers and leadership to ensure successful system implementations.
- Monitor system performance ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in system upgrades testing and change management processes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Meaningful Use requirements.
- Generate and analyze reports to provide insights into system usage and performance.
- Contribute to Epic-related projects ensuring timely delivery.
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and implement best practices.
