Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Christ the King School is searching for a part-time teacher of Middle School Social Studies. The candidate must be energetic creative and highly motivated and will be able to uphold and promote the teachings of the Catholic Church. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Teach courses in social studies history geography American government political science or humanities to students in grades 6 7 and 8 utilizing a core curriculum. 2. Develops a balanced social studies program involving factual background material material on current events discussion time and other appropriate activities. 3. Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual abilities attitudes and cultural backgrounds. 4. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment during class sessions. 5. Selects and requests books and instructional aids and maintains inventory records as required; may request resource speakers and field trips. 6. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health attitude and learning challenges. 7. Effectively communicates with parents on pupil progress.
