Job Description
Ravenswood is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydneys North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. Ravenswood is proud of its growing Co-Curricular Dance Program that offers classes for students in Prep to Year 12 in a variety of dance styles. On this occasion we are seeking passionate and trained RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet teachers.
The successful candidate/s will be highly organised with strong communication skills and have the appropriate qualifications and demonstrated teaching ability in the following areas:
- RAD Exams Grade 1 through to Advanced
- Pre-Primary and above technique classes
- Understand safe dance principles and feel confident delivering strengthening for pointe and pointe training
- RAD technique on display through a mid-year and end-of-year concert routine
- Deliver lessons to a variety of students from the beginner dancer to the experienced examination candidate
- Be familiar with the Progressing Ballet Technique or be willing to upskill and complete the course
- Hold an up-to-date First Aid Certificate
The current days of work are Tuesdays after school (3.00 - 7.30 pm) and/or Saturdays (12.00 - 5.00 pm) during term time. As the timetable is already set for the year these days are fixed. However we are open to considering candidates who are only available for one of these shifts if both do not suit.
