As the VOE coordinator for tabling and in-person outreach youll be supporting the Public Policy Manager in nonpartisan voter engagement effortsmeeting people where they are building trust and ensuring voters have the information they need to get ready to vote in the 2025 elections. This is a highly active field-based role that will engage with community members particularly those who have and continue to face barriers to voting.
Job requirements:
Experience in community outreach grassroots organizing or civic engagement (paid or volunteer).
Ability to successfully work in a nonpartisan setting having conversations with employees and community members in a nonpartisan manner.
Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers and engaging diverse groups in a nonpartisan respectful manner.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual or multilingual a plus.
Self-starter who enjoys working independently and outdoors in a fast-paced people-centered environment.
Access to reliable transportation to travel across Hennepin County.
Familiarity with voter registration processes and key election deadlines.
Ability to work evenings and weekends most events will take place on weekends or during evening hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in a second language spoken in the target communities (e.g. Spanish Oromo Somali etc.).
Previous experience in reporting outreach.
Knowledge of local political landscape and community-based organizations.
