The Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Practicum Coordinator.
The Practicum Coordinator is primarily responsible for the School Placement (Practicum) for . Students. This position works closely with the Director of Teacher Education and reports to the Dean of Education. The School Placement (Practicum) Coordinators main responsibility is to organize and monitor the school practicum placements for Elementary and Secondary Bachelor of Education students.
In addition the position provides support to course instructors through coordinating the Community Placement Program offered to second year Bachelor of Education students and maintains ongoing communication with the . Committee on the Community Program
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Education degree with teacher certification and a minimum of three years of teaching experience. A Masters of Education degree is considered an asset. A strong commitment to excellent customer service and dedication to building strong relationships is required. Also required is a motivated team player and independent thinker. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) and have an aptitude for or previous experience using business enterprise systems such as Colleague and Sharepoint.
