About the Job
As a Production Supervisor you will supervise the daily activities of the processing plants to process and/or manufacture company will ensure the plants operate smoothly and comply with health and safety and environmental legislation policies and procedures while producing high quality products.
This position requires a demonstrated degree of initiative and judgment in order to organize prioritize and supervise daily tasks. Courtesy tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in everyday working relationships.
Typical hours are Monday to Friday morning and/or afternoon shifts with Saturday shifts as required.
Located at our Severn Quarry salary range of $75000 - $90000 based on experience.
What Youll Be Doing
- Manages production schedules to ensure that sufficient inventories are available to meet sales requirements.
- Provides routine inspection of machines and equipment to ensure systems are operating at optimum levels.
- Examines time submitted and sends to payroll using TMS system for processing. Follows up with individuals and payroll to resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepares production reports for submission to Operations Manager. Investigates and apply corrective measures for any significant variance to expected results.
- Supervises subcontractors and consultants engaged in plant or facility construction or modification.
- Gains insight and knowledge into the efficient operation of the site by consulting co- workers and supervisors and attending training and development courses and seminars. Make recommendations for improvement where practical.
- Assists with the purchase of all plant parts and consumables to ensure adequate inventory of parts are available for maintenance personnel.
- Assists with budget preparation and monitors costs within the limits of the budget. Relays discrepancies to Operations Manager.
- Participates in and promotes safety and environmental awareness training.
- Provides supervision of a team of production workers to ensure that work is done accurately and efficiently. Provides guidance and motivation to maintain and enhance competency levels and identify future training requirements.

- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and accurate records.
- Business acumen - demonstrated understanding of quality standards relative to aggregate/quarry/asphalt/concrete operations and supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated computer software skills track data and produce documents and reports as required.
- Communicates with clarity verbally and in one-on-one or group situations or over the telephone.
- Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required
- Professional manner tact diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues including senior management.
- Thorough - makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly attentive to details keeps accurate records
- Proactive - anticipates and initiates action to meet needs
- Adaptable - able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
- Valid G Ontario Drivers License
