The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about pool operations safety and risk management Do you have leadership experience in the aquatics industry Were looking for an experienced and dynamic Aquatic Operations Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operations of our remote pools in the Top End region.
As the Aquatic Operations Manager youll be responsible for ensuring that multiple pools operate smoothly safely and in compliance with industry standards. Youll lead a team of lifeguards coordinators and operational staff making sure all facilities meet safety requirements risk management protocols and are fully prepared for public use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations ensuring a seamless and efficient environment for all members and staff.
- Financial Leadership: Manage financial planning payroll budgeting and reporting to ensure the centres financial health and growth.
- Team Management: Lead inspire and develop a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and programs.
- Risk Management: Implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Project Planning: Develop both long-term and short-term projects for the successful operation of the facility including program development and strategies for long-term success.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop engage and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships programs and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
- Fostering Inclusiveness: Maintain a clean welcoming and open environment for all members of staff and the community.
- Training: Assist the General Manager Recreation and Aquatrics in developing coordinating and implementing marketing plans designed to maintain and increase existing business and capture new opportunities within the region.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in aquatics operations safety management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of pool operations maintenance and safety standards.
- Experience in staff training development and performance management.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and safety standards (e.g. Royal Lifesaving Australia YMCA guidelines).
- Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
- First Aid CPR and lifeguard certification (required).
- Current NT drivers licence.
Mandatory Requirements
YMCA including its Boards of Directors are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement including but not limited to:
- Valid Working with Children Clearance.
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
