Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer Shape the Future of Healthcare Technology with Ascom

We are now looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. In this role you will play a key part in shaping the mechanical design of our robust handheld products and accessories. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams lead mechanical development projects and mentor junior engineersmaking a real impact on the future of healthcare and safety technology.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate product requirements into mechanical solutions
  • Participate or contribute to major mechanical development projects
  • Design and verify mechanical components and systemsfrom detailed parts to complete products
  • Drive advanced MCAD design in Creo focusing on molded plastic parts
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and tooling decisions
  • Support and improve existing product designs
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards (UL/ETL/IEC ISO/FDA)
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Continuously improve mechanical engineering processes and documentation
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies

What Were Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in mechanical product design
  • Proven expertise in CAD tools such as Creo (Pro-E) and SolidWorks
  • Experience designing in regulated environments (ISO/FDA)
  • Strong background in designing molded plastic components

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent mechanical design and technical problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of product safety regulations and material compliance
  • Proficient in applying UL/ETL/IEC standards to product design
  • Strong communication skills in Swedish and English - both verbal and written
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers
  • Customer-focused mindset and strong stakeholder management
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement
