Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise concrete works including formwork reinforcement pouring curing and structural inspections.
- Reviewing and interpreting structural drawings to ensure accurate implementation on-site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors tradesmen and other stakeholders to ensure timely and quality execution.
- Monitor material usage to ensure seamless workflow and ensure proper handling and storage of cement aggregates and reinforcement steel.
- Conduct quality control checks on concrete mix slump tests cube tests and surface finishes at all stages of construction.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian building codes safety standards and project specifications.
- Maintain daily site logs including labour materials equipment and progress reports.
- Liaise with consultants architects and project managers to resolve technical issues.
- Forecast material and manpower needs and coordinate procurement with the logistics team.
- Enforce HSE protocols and ensure all workers follow safety guidelines and that environmental standards are always met
- Organising site set up and operations.
- Creating daily and weekly site work plans
- Communicating daily updates and requests with the project manager
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction with a strong focus on reinforced concrete structures.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with construction tools concrete testing methods and site supervision.
- Membership in COREN NSE or other professional bodies is an advantage
- Sound knowledge of Engineering Construction and design
- Great leadership and organisational skills
- Superb project management skills
- Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to learn
- Understanding of MEP drawings is also an advantage
