Job Description
We have a new position available for a Warehouse Manager to be based in Workington. You will be joining an established local business which sells and distributes furniture and homeware to their loyal customer base throughout Cumbria.
The ideal candidate will have a background in warehouse and distribution exceptional customer service and team leadership skills and will be someone who is very much hands on (this is not an office job!).
Your job will be to run the warehouse supervise a small team of warehouse staff and delivery drivers and foremost ensure that customers receive exceptional customer service from your team.
Your new job
- Oversee the efficient receipt storage and dispatch of furniture products.
- Be hands on (this can include heavy lifting).
- Supervise a team of 4 to 5 people (including Van Drivers).
- Ensure accurate inventory control and stock management.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- When required go out with Drivers on deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory shipments and other warehouse activities.
- Liaise with suppliers.
- Organise and coordinate deliveries to customers.
- Keep records up to date on the computer.
Requirements
About you
- Experience in a similar warehouse and distribution role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer literate.
- Comfortable with a hand-on management role.
- Able to lead from the front / a good team leader.
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
Benefits
Salary and benefits
- Starting salary of 28000 to 30000 per year. ( 14 to 15 per hour).
- 5 days per week (Monday to Friday but maybe the odd Saturday if required).
- Permanent staff position.
