Job Description

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking and Operating Technology Division you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teams work adheres to compliance standards business requirements and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output practices and collaboration.
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems.
- Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the teams work in accordance with compliance standards service level agreements and business requirements.
- Creates a culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on SDLC concepts and 5 years applied experience. In addition demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
- Experience leading technology projects.
- Experience managing technologists.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Java Spring Boot and React.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
- Practical cloud native experience.
- Experience in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Experience working at code level.
- AWS certification.
