About the Role
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations within a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This leadership position ensures production targets are consistently met while maintaining top-tier standards in food safety employee engagement cost control and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations across production quality assurance sanitation logistics and maintenance teams
- Lead plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Develop and manage budgets cost-saving programs and resource planning strategies
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments
- Ensure all operations adhere to federal and state food safety regulations including FDA USDA HACCP and GMP standards
- Lead workforce planning training and organizational development to support high performance
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished products
- Maintain strong communication with corporate leadership to report on plant metrics and project status
- Establish and maintain a culture focused on workplace safety accountability and operational excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in operations management industrial engineering food science or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing food manufacturing plant operations
- In-depth knowledge of GMP HACCP SQF and OSHA safety standards
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced high-output environment
- Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing metrics tracking software
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in business administration supply chain management or operations
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credentials
- Working knowledge of automation systems plant utilities and production scheduling
