What youll do...

As aSenior Manager Software Engineering within International Technology youll spend your days translating requirements into solutions writing code collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. Youll oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.

• Leads and directs in large-scale complex cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example proof of concepts prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing software design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functional teams; enhancing design to prevent reoccurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.

• Leads the work of cross-functional groups of ten to twenty engineers including offshore associates for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents direction and examples; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes.

• Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example issue impact criticality possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation.

• Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership. Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with the Product Management Web Operations Project Management Business and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.

• Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

• Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

• Promotes and supports company policies procedures mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.

• Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans programs and initiatives; consulting with business partners managers co-workers or other key stakeholders; soliciting evaluating and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

About You

We are looking for someone that has experience in JAVA Spring Boot and Messaging frameworks such as Kafka and can implement big ideas with a positive attitude. You want to be a part of the team to disrupt this industry and you have these main skills:

• Extensive understanding of Kubernetes microservice architecture and design and best practices around multithreading networking offline storage and performance tuning

• Expert level knowledge and understanding of Java Spring Boot and experience working with distributed systems and teams.

• Experience withrefactoring/redesigning/rewritingexisting applications is a plus (We are in the process of redesigning and refactoring our current system)

• Ability to build products with focus on testability someone who loves test coverage (well versed with Mockito and JUnit)

• A disciplined approach to development code review testing documentation and code structure in a team environment.

• Constant desire to improve learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest features in Kubernetes Java and Spring Boot.

• Demonstrated knowledge of core design patterns to integrate with internal and external entities and data sources building fault tolerant systems.

• Designing and testing Relational Database Management Systems including DB2 MySQLJDBS and NOSQL;

• Implementing Coding Standards using tools such as Sonar and Jocaco; using Azure cloud (Or any cloud) in deploying the application on different servers and maintaining the application to its standards for the users; and experience with project life cycle including analysis design development implementation support and enhancement.

Skill Set Additions:

• Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable distributed systems in virtualized cloud environments.

• Ability to design for fault tolerance and high availability.

• Proficient knowledge and experience with Kafka Queues Cassandra Solr Elastic Search SQL

• Demonstrated knowledge of the following programming Languages: Java Python Bash Spark (SQL Streaming) Hadoop Map-Reduce experience. Build Manager (Maven) Distributed Version Control (GIT) Continuous Integration (Jenkins) experience.

• Solid Devops skills in troubleshooting live applications assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on Linux

• Develop high performance and scalable solutions that extract transform and load big data

The annual salary range for this position is $110000.00-$220000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
